In what can be seen as an unfathomable situation, a camera captured a auto falling into view out of nowhere at a parking garage in Austin.
Footage shows an SUV on the ground floor waiting to park, when suddenly a black BMW 4 series can be seen falling to the ground.
Police say the woman driving the BMW mistook the gas pedal for the brakes and crashed through the parking garage barriers.
The man driving the SUV was named William Burch, and he said that he had pulled into the alley to await his colleagues.
"I was turning around in that little service delivery area".
He told KXAN he was on the phone with his mother when it happened. "As I was backing out towards the dumpster, I heard something, because I had my window down", said Burch.
Burch was uninjured. He was on the phone with his mother when the BMW landed on his vehicle. "So I just immediately just put it in drive and started driving forward and as I started driving forward, the auto landed on me".
Not all parking lot incidents end that way. This is the second time a vehicle has fallen from Littlefield Parking Garage in a year. Jo E. Savage had plunged from the fifth floor of the parking garage, after knocking down a concrete wall with her vehicle in the River Park Square garage.
