Netflix may have decided against renewing Sense8 after it ran its second season, however it seems like the popular science fiction drama is being offered another chance at releasing a third season.
Further, xHamster went into the many ways it has used its influence to take a stance in issues tethered to the characters in Sense8, such as speaking out against regressive LGBTQ law policies and other forms of negative treatment for non-traditional sexualities. We know it's unconventional, but we want to bring it back - on xHamster. The in-site fandom and legitimate dedication to making such a project work is apparent, and admittedly, xHamster's two biggest selling points - money and open-mindedness - are exactly what a show like Sense8 needs.
Ever since we read about the canellation, we've been wondering if there was something we could do. The support shown for the cancelled show led to Netflix allowing the Wachowskis to air a special, two-hour finale next year, but now xHamster has offered the sisters the opportunity to bring the show back permanently. In short, we have the eyeballs, and the revenue.
"[We] continue to use our audience to speak up against repressive anti-LGBTQ laws in the United States and overseas, and for sex ed in public schools Planned Parenthood and the rights of sex workers". We get more visitors daily than the New York Times, ESPN or the Daily Mail.
We'd like to set up a meeting to see if there's some fit for us in the future of Sense8.
Hawkins added: 'We know we're an unlikely home.
Of course, this entire incident could be an earnest attempt at keeping such a wonderful show running. Or, it could be a publicity stunt for the website.
That said, should we honestly consider the idea?
Elsewhere, he listed the ways that xHamster could actually best Netflix, noting that, in addition to "currently [being] one of the most highly trafficked websites on the internet", xHamster also is, at the end of the day, a porn site with the right "disposition" to host an (admittedly, explicitly sexual) show like Sense8.
Keep in mind, the show does have some pretty intense sex scenes, but that comes with the prestige of Netflix branding. I think that we'd want to let the Wachowskis use us as a vessel for their vision.
