And here's the important point - this meeting likely was not the last on this topic, likely not the only one.
"The White House hinted that, if some acts of good faith, in particular, with regard to Syria's ceasefire are seen, the chances for returning Russian diplomatic property may arise".
But the Senate's tweak also changed a provision allowing any House member to force a vote on a resolution to disapprove of easing sanctions, raising new objections from House Democrats. "Jared Kushner's security clearance must be immediately revoked".
In his Washington Post op-ed titled "Bungled collusion is still collusion", Krauthammer said he had been puzzled by the claims that President Donald Trump and the White House had been colluding with Russian Federation, due to the fact there was no solid evidence. Trump Jr.'s attorney did not respond to inquiries, nor did a spokesman for Kushner.
The Harvard graduate is also the progeny of a powerful NY real estate family, and has always been in Trump's inner circle.
On Fox News, host Sean Hannity asked Donald Trump Jr: "This is, as far as you know, are all the emails that exist on this case?"
The meeting appears to be the most tangible evidence of a connection between Trump's election campaign and Russian Federation, a subject that has prompted investigations by congressional committees and a federal special counsel.
Blumenthal added that he would not rule out Akhmetshin being subpoenaed, and speculated there may be other meetings that have not been disclosed yet.
Akhmetshin said Trump Jr. asked the attorney for evidence of illicit money flowing to the Democratic National Committee, but Veselnitskaya said she didn't have that information. Veselnitskaya has denied having any ties to the Russian government.
According to the timeline released by the Department of Homeland Security, the Obama Justice and Homeland Security departments granted her a special type of "parole" to be in the US from September 2015 through February 2016 to work on a court case in NY.
Akhmetshin's name has also surfaced in lawsuits, including a NY court case in which a mining company branded him a "former Soviet military counterintelligence officer" and accused him of involvement in the hacking of its computer systems. He's been outspoken in recent years about a United States law levying sanctions on Russians and has worked to undermine the public narrative used to justify the bill.
The Post reported last month that Kushner's finances and business dealings were being examined as part of the probe led by special counsel and former Federal Bureau of Investigation director Robert Mueller into whether the Trump campaign teamed with Russian Federation to help tilt the presidential race in favor of the billionaire tycoon.
"This is not hearsay, not fake news, not unsourced leaks".
Kushner was in charge of the Trump campaign's digital operations. He now plays a major role in shaping foreign policy.
One possible retaliatory measure would be to reduce staff levels at the US embassy in Moscow to those of the Russian embassy in Washington, she said.
In a statement Sunday, Trump Jr. said the attorney had said she had information that people tied to Russian Federation were funding the Democratic National Committee and supporting Clinton, a description that Akhmetshin backed up in his interview with the AP.
The effort, she said, is meant to "expose House Republicans' inaction for their willful, shameful enabling - they have become enablers of the violation of our Constitution, the attack on the integrity of our election, the security of our country".
