Watch the new Westworld trailer above!

Very few TV shows have received as much fan and critical success in their first seasons as Westworld. That beats “Game of Thrones” and “True Detectives” when compared to similar times during their first seasons.

Even though season two of the critically acclaimed show isn’t expected to hit until 2018, HBO shared a trailer for it during the Westworld panel in Hall H today.

Set at the intersection of the near future and the reimagined past, explore a world in which every human appetite, no matter how noble or depraved, can be indulged without outcome. Nolan is also the director on the project, which is based on the 1973 film “Westworld” written by Michael Crichton. With constant speculation on what we’ll be seeing in Season 2 (Samurai World, anyone?), it’s a relief that we can now peer into this manmade environment once more, as #HBO has just dropped a Season 2 teaser for Westworld at #SDCC2017.

The show is set to return in 2018, although no set release date is nailed down.

The series stars Evan Rachel Wood, Thandie Newton, Jeffrey Wright, Ed Harris, Shannon Woodward, Ben Barnes, Ingrid Bolsø Berdal, Luke Hemsworth, James Marsden, Simon Quarterman, Rodrigo Santoro, Angela Sarafyan, Jimmi Simpson, and Tessa Thompson. In the meantime, you can just fill-up on “Game of Thrones“.
