It was an emotional moment last night when Ariana Grande returned to the stage in Manchester to pay a moving tribute to the 22 people who tragically lost their lives following the terrorist attack at her recent concert in the city.
"And then she told me Olivia would have wanted to hear the hits".
The show consisted of a strong lineup of influential singers including Robbie Williams of the British boy band "Take That, ' Pharrell Williams, Miley Cyrus, Niall Horan, Little Mix, Black Eyed Peas, Katy Perry, Imogen Heap, Mac Miller, Justin Bieber and Coldplay".
Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson, Jade Thirlwall and Leigh-Anne Pinnock stormed the stage at the Emirates Old Trafford Cricket Ground in monochrome outfits with Edwards, Nelson and Thirlwall all wearing fish net tights and leotards. "All we feel here tonight is love and positivity".
It's probably one of the most attractive renditions of the song you'll hear.
The somber cause that the concert was being held to benefit was never far from the crowd's mind. Even as Grande talked about her conversation with the mother of 15-year-old Olivia Campbell-Hardy, who was killed in the attack, she said she had to redesign the set list to accommodate her assurance that "Olivia wouldn't have wanted [me to cry]".
The clip, filmed by the BBC, shows an officer in full uniform dancing hand in hand with a group of children in a circle, fully embracing the message of unity which the concert hoped to highlight in the wake of the recent Manchester terror attack.
"I'm real excited, but real scared", Shannon Beetham, 14, who was injured in last month's bombing, told Reuters.
With an estimated audience of 50,000, the sold-out event saw some of the biggest names in the music world join Grande to support her in her attempt to raise funds for the families of the victims and they pulled all stops to make it one of the most watched events. "We were there in Manchester (arena) as well, I was hit".
The pop superstar spoke to fans during her performance.
