It's coming to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and Steam, and will offer a combination of remixed, nostalgia-baiting retro levels from classic 16-bit Sonic games, plus brand-new zones.

SEGA released a brand new trailer for the game today to showcase some of the gameplay to expect in this upcoming Sonic game! If you are excited to hear more about Sonic Mania, a new description via the announcement trailer explaining the release date and game lies below. It'll be nice to celebrate Sonic over the course of the summer season, leading into his big release of Sonic Forces later this year.
The 3D Sonic game, due out on PS4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and PC, is being developed by the Sonic Team. Now, decades after the blue rodent first raced over pixelated landscapes to free his woodland kin, Sonic is getting an all-new, retro-inspired side scrolling adventure, and it looks flawless. The game's developers include Christian Whitehead and Simon Thomley, who are both renowned for developing great ports of older Sonic games. He'll be bringing his friends too, as Sonic, Tails and Knuckles will all be playable as single or cooperative two player characters.
The Sonic Mania collector's edition is priced at $69.99, and can also now be preordered through various retail channels. Discover a myriad of never-before-seen hidden paths and secrets! It is a mixed version of the previous Sonic Mania version.
