Just a day after the United Kingdom went through another tragic evening, this time in London, the USA singer held the special One Love Manchester concert to honour and raise funds for the victims and families affected by the recent Manchester attack.
During the concert, Ariana took a moment to reflect on the evening's events, saying: "I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for being here today, I love you so, so much".
He tweeted his public apology during the Manchester One Love concert, which was fronted by Grande. "So I want to thank you for being just that".
Coldplay were also a crowd favourite, performing well-known songs like "Viva La Vida" and "Fix You". "Everybody say, 'We honour you, and we love you'". She joined Black Eyed Peas on their hit Where Is The Love? and a choir from Parrs Wood High School to sing their version of her song, My Everything and closed with her track One Last Time and Over The Rainbow from The Wizard of Oz.
Grande said that she had met with the mother of 15-year-old victim Olivia Campbell-Hardy, who said she "wouldn't have wanted her to cry" but would have wanted her to "play all the hits". "All we feel here tonight is love, resilience, positivity", Williams said.
The One Love Manchester concert was held at the Emirates Old Trafford cricket ground and broadcast around the world, with all net profits from the event going to the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund set up to help those affected by the attack.
A further terrorist attack in London on Saturday night had led to speculation that Ariana may pull the plug on the concert, but the singer opted to stand strong in the face of the attackers.
"Let the world hear your resilience", Pharrell Williams told a sell-out crowd of 50,000 who had gathered to remember victims of a May 22 suicide bomb attack on Grande's concert in the city.
"We're still singing our songs, our songs, our songs". Authorities have said the attack started with a van plowing into pedestrians and then involved three men using large knives to attack people in bars and restaurants at a nearby market.
Heartfelt words from Ariana Grande at One Love Manchester.
