Soldiers have been deployed on the streets and police presence has increased since the terrorist attack at Manchester Arena that left 22 people dead.

British Transport Police announced the measure in a bid to "disrupt and deter criminal activity" on the rail network after the United Kingdom terror threat level rose to critical in the wake of the Manchester attack.

British police are now hunting for a jihadist network believed to behind the deadly bombing of in Manchester that killed 22 people.

Greater Manchester Police say two men were arrested overnight in Manchester and in the Withington area in the south of the city.
