The move to use Zelda as a launch title for the Nintendo Switch was a sound decision based on the the game's performance over the years, and in its many forms. With games like Super Mario Odyssey, Monster Hunter XX, and the swath of other Nintendo titles coming down the pipeline for Nintendo Switch, demand will likely grow even larger as more fans clamor for these titles.
Following the reveal at the Monster Hunter Championship 2017, we now know a lot more about what this version will bring.
Monster Hunter XX on the Switch will feature the same content as the 3DS version but will support a 1080p resolution when docked and 720p in handheld mode. Given that rumours regarding Pokemon Stars have been popping up for past months it seems that it might be in development for 3DS instead of Nintendo Switch. This placed it as Nintendo's worst-selling console of all time. For the majority of aficionados, this ought to be all they need. Even more important than these will be the online connection itself, as Nintendo has had mixed reception towards their past online.
Nintendo's current fiscal year (FY2018) kicked off on April 1st and runs till March 31, 2018. It's the first third party release that can really make an impact on the console, at least on the Japanese market.
The good news for Nintendo 3DS players of "Monster Hunter XX" is very advantageous for them. Without more information no definitive statements can be made yet on whether or not Nintendo will succeed with their online plan, yet fans are hopeful their ideas will come to fruition in a way that makes the Switch offer the full package of great experiences.
