TV One's "Unsung" series featured the group in 2015, an episode that received the highest ratings of any episode in the show's nine seasons.

Amid talks to finally reunite in conjunction with the 25th anniversary of its debut, "Hummin Comin' at Cha", the group learned TV One was perusing a biopic without ever reaching out them to participate, according to multiple sources close to the group.

The foursome, consisting of sisters LaTocha and Tamika Scott, Kandi Burruss-Tucker, and Tameka "Tiny" Harris had a golden sound that produced hits such as "Just Kickin' It", "Feel So Good", "Understanding", the acapella harmony that was "Tonight", and "My Little Secret", among many others.

When Xscape announced it would reunite almost 20 years after its sudden, acrimonious split, it was sweet news to R&B fans who had long held out for the return of the beloved girl group.

Following their reunion announcement earlier this year, Xscape are ready to tell their life story in their own authorized biopic. During the height of their career, the ladies would disband, leaving fans wondering what happened and would there ever be reunion? We know that anything Mona Scott-Young touches turns gold, as for the same with the Xscape.

In partnership with Mona Scott-Young and her Monami Entertainment, the life and times of the 90s R&B quartet will soon head to the screen.

There's been no news as to which network will air the biopic, but it won't be TV One - that network recently announced it is making a film about Xscape without the group's authorization; in a statement, Xscape called the move "disrespectful and disappointing". They're also reportedly looking to film their reunion as a "docu-follow". However, the group denied this was so, calling it "disrespectful and disappointing".

Despite the two competing biopics, Scott-Young is happy that Xscape is allowing her company, Monami Entertainment, to produce their authorized life story. We are not, in any way, participating in that project and it will never represent our true story.
