Capcom have released their latest business overview document, which talks about the companies plans leading up to March 31st 2018, and amongst the tiresome strategies is the mention of a "Major title" that Capcom plan to release within this financial year. But there's something else - the company has noted that another "major title" will be announced, possibly as soon as E3. Perhaps Capcom is treading a little more lightly this time in releasing their next big fighting game, after the infamous release of Street Fighter V. It will be interesting to see how the company has learned from the mistakes of past year, and if the public consumers will go easy on their initial judgment of Infinite. So, again, while it may have come in 500,000 units shy of its sales target, especially on day one, the company expects sales to continue upward due to DLC and the fact each entry in the series sells well long-term. Considering the game was released just four weeks before the end of the fiscal yer, that's a nice figure. For instance, Monster Hunter XX and Dead Rising 4 were expected to sell around 2 million copies a piece. Street Fighter remains the company's best-selling series of all time, and has moved 390 million units since the SNES version debuted in 1992.
For the year ending March 31, Capcom's overall profits rose to 13.6 billion yen ($122.7 million), up 13.5 percent from the 12 billion yen ($107.8 million) reported for the preceding year. This news comes following the company's recent earnings report in which it has proclaimed that the newest entry in the zombie series for Xbox One and PC "underperformed".
