A woman is fighting for her life after a Brisbane hit-and-run

Horrific CCTV footage shows the 27-year-old woman crossing the road, seemingly oblivious to the large construction vehicle turning directly into her path.

The footage shows that within seconds a yellow tractor crane turns the corner, runs over the woman and appears to continue driving.

It can be seen in the video player above.

Detectives this morning seized the two-tonne mobile crane from a Queensland Rail holding yard.

From there, she was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and underwent emergency surgery.

CCTV has emerged of the moment a young woman was seriously injured in an alleged hit and run in Brisbane.

A 58-year-old man was assisting with inquiries following an appeal by police for the driver to come forward.

The excavator was later found and police believed it may have worked at a nearby railyard.

In a statement, a QR CEO Nick Easy said: “This is a bad incident and my thoughts are with the young woman and her family at this time”.

“This is a police matter under investigation”, Mr Easy said.

A 58-year-old man is now assisting police with their inquiries into an alleged hit and run traffic incident in Bowen Hills overnight.
