Puig made the final out in Saturday's 2-1 loss to the Giants on Saturday when he tried to steal second base and was thrown out. Dave Roberts was not happy about it because he went on his own.

Puig didn't earn himself any brownie points on Monday as he was late to a team workout and was benched as a result, MLB.com's Ken Gurnick reports.

Puig was sent to the minors last season as the Dodgers attempted to shake his lapses in discipline. On the season, Puig is hitting.259/.339/.474 with career-highs in home runs (26) and RBI (70).

Dave Roberts went into further detail in the video below and it's nearly uncomfortable to watch how annoyed and frustrated he sounds when discussing Yasiel Puig.

Dodgers right fielder Yasiel Puig was benched for Los Angeles' game against the San Diego Padres on Monday after reporting late to an on-field pregame assignment.
