Keith Schiller, a longtime aide to President Trump, has told multiple people he intends to leave the White House, according to CNN.
Schiller's reason for wanting to leave his high-level White House post is allegedly financial. Kelly has restricted access to the president since joining the administration, and Schiller has reportedly complained that he has to call the White House switchboard just to speak to the president on the phone.
Schiller, a former Trump bodyguard who is now director of Oval Office operations, was the aide the president sent to Federal Bureau of Investigation headquarters to deliver the letter firing director James Comey.
Sarah Huckabee Sanders denied the allegation and Schiller declined to comment, but the departure wouldn't be a surprise. He makes $165,000 working for the government, a significant decrease from his annual salary of what CNN reported was $294,000 when he worked as Trump's head of security before he was granted Secret Service protection during his campaign.
Schiller is now the subject of a lawsuit filed by protesters who claim he assaulted them outside Trump Tower in September 2015.
When Trump fired FBI Director James Comey in May, he dispatched Schiller with a letter detailing the firing to the FBI's Washington, D.C. headquarters.
Members of the House Intelligence Committee's Russian Federation investigation want to interview the longtime bodyguard as part of their probe, ABC News reported in June.
