Stranger Things' David Harbour has taken up the gauntlet, and a first look at the actor as Hellboy in the upcoming reboot has been revealed.

Big Red has been resurrected in style. From its lack of Ron Perlman to its lack of diversity when casting an Asian character, the film has become a target for some onlookers and fans. Hellboy, also known as Anung Un Rama, is a demon who was summoned to Earth by Nazi occultists looking to swing the tide of World War II in their favor. As he grew older, Hellboy was trained as an agent of the BPRD assisting a wide array of human and nonhuman agents in their efforts to protect the Earth from all manner of supernatural forces.

The new Hellboy movie just started filming in the United Kingdom and Mignola is in set along with director Neil Marshall. Recently, Ed Skein dropped out of playing Daimio after whitewashing concerns.

It'll likely become a bustling source for all things Hellboy over the coming weeks and months, particularly once Neil Marshall's "dark" and "gruesome" reboot begins shooting across parts of England and Bulgaria from September onwards.

We'll bring you more on the new Hellboy reboot as we learn it.

But now, those worries can be cast aside, because now, we have our very first look at #DavidHarbour in full makeup and everything.

Hellboy opens on January 11, 2019.
