"The Houston Texans have made the decision to travel back to Houston after local authorities have now found a safe route for the team to drive home today".

The preseason game between the Houston Texans and the Dallas Cowboys has been canceled so the Texans' players and staff can return to their families in Houston. "What's most important to me and everyone in Jacksonville isn't where we'll play the Texans on Week One, but that the City of Houston and its people recover quickly, safely and successfully".

Unfortunately, uncaring ticket scalpers jumped on the opportunity to make a few dollars for themselves on the secondary market...until the re-sale companies stepped up and did the right thing.

They went to New Orleans to play the Saints in the third preseason game Saturday night.

No official plans are announced to move the game to San Antonio at this time, but the Texans are aware, and Houston is gracious the facility is available.

Game proceeds, representing contributions by both clubs and the players, were set to be donated to the United Way of Greater Houston Relief Fund that supports the efforts of the Red Cross and Salvation Army for Hurricane Harvey relief and recovery along the Texas Gulf Coast.

Now that they don't have to play the last preseason game, the Texans can spend a few days with their families and then begin preparation for the first regular-season game September 10 against Jacksonville at NRG Stadium.
