The 77-year-old veteran singer, who was set to kick of the tour on September 6, released an official statement via his Twitter account.

He said on Twitter that his fall tour would be delayed "following medical advice", without providing further details about why the decision was made.

Sir Tom Jones announced Saturday that he has postponed his upcoming US tour because of health issues.

The Voice coach announced the news five days before the scheduled start of the run of concerts.
