So there's no shortage of romantic angst in this week's Outlander, as Outlander season 3 is just getting started.
Outlander's September 20 season three premiere on Starz drew a series high audience of 1.49 million viewers, according to the pay service. Outlander Season 3 premiered while millions of households dealt with the aftermath of two devastating hurricanes.
The 8 PM premiere with 1.49 million viewers is Starz's highest for a season premiere after Power Season 3 (2.26M) and Power Season 4 (1.68M).
Sunday's episode of the female-targeted drama series starring Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan was also the third biggest audience for a Starz season premiere after the season three and season four premieres of the network's Power series, said the network. Surprising no one, Claire's once happy home with Frank Randall (Tobias Menzies) isn't so blissful now that she's returned post-Jamie. The budding possibility that Claire can return to Jamie in the past breathes new hope into Claire's heart... as well as new doubt. And the question remains: When they find each other, will they be the same people who parted at the standing stones, all those years ago?
Season 3, episode 2 is called "Surrender", and that seems like what Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) is doing, having made a decision to hole up in a cave following his crushing defeat.
