While rumors circulated for over a week that the trio was suspended for the first game of the season, Auburn coach Gus Malzahn denied there were any suspensions on Tuesday.
Backup quarterback Sean White, wide receiver Kyle Davis and running back Kamryn Pettway will not be available for Auburn's 2017 opener against Georgia Southern on Saturday, the team announced prior to kickoff. "We expect everybody to play", he said.
Pettway rushed for 1,224 yards last season and Johnson gained 895 in one of the Southeastern Conference's better tailback tandems.

Johnson gained 136 yards on 16 carries for an already short-handed Auburn backfield.
Davis caught 12 passes for 248 yards and two touchdowns as a true freshman last fall.
Transfer quarterback Jarrett Stidham was 14-for-24 for 185 yards, with two touchdowns and an interception thrown in his debut.
