"Here's to the next generation of mobile device start-ups and innovators, competing to bring you the next wave of class-leading Android devices".

The first technology it references is super-fast Gigabit LTE, which is a nod to Apple and Qualcomm's ongoing legal spat over licensing fees. The chip maker says that the Galaxy S8 is the first device enabled with Gigabit LTE connectivity. For instance: the HTC One M7 didn't have a dual-camera, and the HTC U11 is getting Bluetooth 5, but doesn't have it yet - it's expected to come with Android O later this year.

To date, reviews of the Galaxy Note 8 have called it everything from "a almost ideal smartphone" (ZDNet) to "the most feature-rich Android phone you can buy" (CNET) to "the best big-screen phone yet" (Tom's Guide).

The firmware version for the Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) and Samsung Galaxy A7 (2017) are A520FXXUBQI5 and A720FXXU2BQI2 respectively. It also takes credit for enabling the bezel-less design in Essential's new phone.

Iris scanning technology links to the Galaxy S8, but it actually debuted on the Galaxy Note 7. Koh added that there are several "hurdles to overcome", before making the flexible smartphone available in the market. Among the most exciting features is S Pen that intelligently unlocks innovative ways to write, draw and interact with the gadget.

Samsung plans to release a smartphone with a foldable display in 2018, claims a new report.

"We're working on inventing the next set of world firsts and collaborating with partners across the industry to get them into your hands, on a band around your wrist, or with lenses for over your eyes", the post concludes. "As a result, the Note 8 has successfully completed a rigorous series of device and battery safety compatibility test protocols".

The timing of the post doesn't seem to be coincidental, either, with Apple and the iPhone hot in the news due to the impending September 12th reveal event and the leaks leading up to it.
