Despite the general analysis of the game suggests Swansea parked the bus against Spurs, Clement believes the defending his side did ought to be acknowledged: "Good defending should be applauded". If you got to Italy, you know that's something they are very proud of and clearly we want to attack better and have a little bit more control of the game, but we always have to be realistic.
"I think it's an exciting game for us".
"I would have liked to have created more chances, but I think good defending should be looked on positively".
"It's going to be a hard game for us, there's no question about that", he said.
Swansea boss Clement chose to start Sanches again during the 0-0 draw with Spurs at Wembley, but his loan signing from Bayern Munich was largely anonymous and substituted in the second half. "We are showing that on our day we are hard to beat".
Aurier will now be looking to continue to get playing time under his belt with Spurs and could again be in action in midweek when Mauricio Pochettino's men take on Championship side Barnsley in an EFL Cup tie.
