A missing pregnant Maryland teacher has been found dead and police said they have arrested a suspect for murder, police said Wednesday.
Laura Wallen, 31, last contacted her family on September 4 via text message. Police have not released the contents of the text message she sent.
Wallen's family last heard from her when she sent a text message September 4 that concerned them enough that they called police, police have said.
She did not show up for the first day of classes at Wilde Lake High School in Columbia after spending two weeks preparing her classroom.
Wallen's Ford Escape was discovered September 7 at an apartment complex in Howard County.
Family members last received a text from Laura Elizabeth Wallen, 31, on the morning of Monday, September 4, but then she vanished. "I pray that she's safe and that she comes back".
"If somebody has her, please understand that you've taken away a huge person in so many people's life", Wallen's boyfriend, Tyler Tessier, said on Monday. "She is still alive somewhere and our family would like to offer a reward of $25,000 ..."
"There's nothing we can't fix together. We haven't eaten. We are just looking or praying that you are safe". They would only refer to this case as suspicious.
Circumstances surrounding her disappearance and death are still being investigated.
"That is all part of a thorough and complete investigation", said Montgomery County Police Capt. Paul Starks.
