Wolverhampton Wanderers picked up a new celebrity fan over the weekend in the somewhat unlikely form of actor Mark Hamill.
It all began when Hamill "liked" a tweet from a Wolves fan, assuming the person in question was talking about the animal - one of this favourites. Never heard of them until 2 days ago.
Hamill soon realised his error but, thanks to the frenzy of excitement his liked tweet generated, the Jedi chose to go all-in and declare himself a Wolves ultra.
Running with the Wolves Hamill’s tweet
Hamill, who has played the iconic sci-fi character since the first Star Wars movie was launched in 1977, was in town to film an episode of Jamie and Jimmy's Friday Night Feast, which in the past has brought other worldwide stars to town including Usain Bolt and Orlando Bloom. It's a bit of a mismatch for Luke Skywalker to be a fan of a lowly Championship club.
"We sent a tweet to Mark, who replied to confirm that he has indeed now pledged his allegiance to Wolves - clearly he is a good judge!"
"There is always room in the Wolf Pack for The Last Jedi, and there is the open invitation for Mark to attend a fixture at Molineux should his Landspeeder ever be passing".
