"Dr Ilaiah was in Parkal to attend some function when Vysya community members stopped him".
Dr Ilaiah had to run into a Parkal town police station to save himself after some people flung footwear at him at Dr B R Ambedkar statue in Parkal town in Warangal district.
He added that it would be good if Kancha Ilaiah would take back his words and apologize to the community.
Knowing about the arrival of Ilaiah, scores of people allegedly belonging to Vysya community gathered at the Ambedkar centre and tried to obstruct him when his vehicle was about to enter the Warangal road. He alleged that some people threw footwear and stones at his vehicle.
Meanwhile, members of Dalit communities came to know about the incident and rushed to the police station, where members of both communities raised slogans.
He also lodged a complaint with the police urging them to take action on those involved in the attack. About the same time, TMAS members and Prof. Shoes were also hurled at the auto during the incident that took place while Ilaiah was returning from Bhupalpally town after attending a meeting conducted by T-MASS on Saturday.
Members of the Vasavi Kanyakaparameshwari Temple Committee and Arya Vysya Yuvajana Sangham members demanded that the police arrest Prof. Ilaiah in the Parkal police station for writing a book against the Arya Vysya community and demanded his arrest.
