Six deaths in Florida have been blamed on Irma, along with three in Georgia and one in SC.
Two people are reported dead in Georgia as a result of Tropical Storm Irma's heavy winds and rain. That toll included 10 killed in Cuba and state media said most of those died in Havana, where seawater surged deep into residential neighborhoods.
The widespread outages stretch from the Florida Keys all the way into central Florida.

Ocean waters around the Keys were filled with hazards, including sunken boats, AP said. "I know this. Being in the tour business in both cities - Del Ray Beach, Florida, and Savannah, Georgia - it's had a major impact with cancellations". Nearly every mobile home park in the Keys had overturned homes, according to the governor. Officials said the National Guard has arrived in the island chain, and state transportation officials have cleared six of 42 bridges as safe for travel.
As of the last advisory from the hurricane center, at 10 a.m. CDT Monday, Hurricane Jose was located about 305 miles north-northeast of Grand Turk Island and was moving north at 9 mph.
Two deaths occurred in Florida due to auto accidents.
Even before Hurricane Irma landed in Naples, the National Hurricane Center - expecting more than a dozen inches of rain and a storm surge as high as 15 feet - issued a flash flood warning. Facebook groups were forming Monday to help from afar.
Posted: Sep. 11, 2017 8:00 am Updated: Sep. The Florida cities of Jacksonville and Orlando were especially hard-hit by floodwaters. The Walt Disney Co. said its Disney World theme parks and Disney Springs will reopen Tuesday wotj regular hours.
The airport in Jacksonville said the terminal building would be open again around 3 a.m. starting on Tuesday morning.
Footage from the Grassy Key island shot by USA broadcaster NBC showed downed power lines, felled trees, and streets strewn with debris and vehicles.
