The boy was arrested by the police, a day after the decomposed body of Chandni Jain was found on the hillocks near Ameenpur at Madinaguda. At about 5 pm on Saturday, she left her house at Satyanarayana Enclave in Deeptisri Nagar, Miyapur.
The girl had left the house on Saturday evening to meet some friends. She was seen on the main road getting out of an auto at 5.28 pm and at around 6 pm, her phone was switched off. After her familyy was unable to reach her on Saturday, they started looking for her before lodging a complaint at 12.30 am on Sunday. The family members lodged a complaint at a police station on September 10.
Nivedita, who is pursuing degree final year at a private college, told the media that they came to know about Chandni's death on Monday night.
"Since the girl is a minor and the suspect is also suspected to be a minor, we are investigating carefully". Are the parents teaching their sons to kill women? "First we saw her jacket lying there and then saw the tattoo on her hand, with which we confirmed that the body was that of my sister", said Niveditha, Chandni's older sister. Police stumbled upon a video clip in which the twelfth standard student from Miyapur, whose decomposed body was found in Ameenpur on Tuesday, was seen travelling on a three-wheeler with a man. This panicked them, and they approached police. The top of the victim was found next to the body but the rest of her clothes were intact. Cyberabad commissioner Sandeep Shandilya visited the spot on Monday night.
Police who registered a missing case has commenced investigation. "We have registered a murder case", Sangareddy SP S Chandrasekhar Reddy told TOI.
