Publisher Ubisoft would first like to open up this new Ghost War game mode to the public, so an open beta is set to run starting on Thursday, September 21. "Ghost War" will have a stand alone open beta beginning September 21st.
Ghost War will allow players will choose from a list of classes designed for one of three specific categories-Assault, Marksman, or Support.
The open beta for the Ghost War mode will be held on all available platforms for Ghost Recon: Wildlands next week.
In Ghost War, two groups of players will team up in a 4v4 team deathmatch. Each of these classes will fulfill a specific function on the battlefield and they will have their distinct characteristics, weapons, perks and customization options. Weather elements and time of day will also play a role, something that offers players tactical opportunities.There will be five maps available throughout the OBT. In order to help simulate a true military team based experience, new PvP mechanics will be introduced to this mode including suppressing fire and sound markers.
As previously reported, once testing concludes and Ghost War is released, it will be a free update to all Ghost Recon: Wildlands owners in the fall.
The stand-alone, Ghost War open beta will be available to pre-load on September 19 for both Ghost Recon: Wildlands owners and new players.
