It is reported the blast occured at the gates of the stadium.
Officials also said all players participating in a Shpageeza Cricket League match within the stadium and the spectators were safe.
As per the reports, the attack is a case of suicide bombing and took place at 3:45 pm (local time) on Wednesday afternoon.
Shpageeza Cricket League season kicked off on Monday and is scheduled to run through to September 22 at the Kabul International Cricket Stadium.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility or details of the players. The game was immediately stopped after the blast was heard. Kabul has witnessed devastating attacks by both the Taliban and the Islamic State in recent months.
Both Afghanistan and Pakistan are deprived of hosting regular worldwide cricket games due to the security problem in their countries.
