Pakistani troops Wednesday resorted to heavy firing and shelling on forward posts and civilian areas along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district resulting in injuries to five persons including 2 BSF jawans.
Earlier on September, Pakistan Army broke ceasefire along the Line of Control in Poonch sector of Jammu and Kashmir. He also said that the Pakistan army fired at the Indian posts with small arms, automatics and mortars and the gunfight is still underway.
Incidents of ceasefire violation by Pakistan have increased this year.
Earlier in yet another ceasefire violation, Pakistani troops this morning fired unprovoked on forward posts along worldwide border in Pargwal sector of Jammu.
Injured have been hospitalised at Army Hospital, Poonch and District Hospital.
The Pakistani troops, this month, violated the ceasefire at least three times. The firing had prompted retaliation by the Indian troops guarding the border, a police official said. On September 9 also, the Pakistani Army had violated the ceasefire along the LoC in Debraj, Krishna Ghati and Ishapur in the Mendhar sector, PTI had reported.
Union Home Minister yesterday in Jammu had said that since 2014, Pakistan every year violates ceasefire agreement for more than 400 times.
