The Apple Watch comes with a built-in cellular connectivity, making it independent from the iPhone. At launch, the smartwatch will become available in 26 countries. You can register interest on EE's website.
The Apple Watch Series 3 has cellular built into the device.
UPDATE 07-27-2017: A new report from China suggests that Apple has already finalized the primary manufacturer for the forthcoming Apple Watch Series 3. United Kingdom pricing is expected to be £329. That will start at $249 (£249). It automatically syncs playlists like New Music Mix and Favorites Mix with the user's most listened music.
What are the features and specifications?
San Francisco: Apple Inc. unveiled a new Watch on Tuesday that can make calls and access the internet without an iPhone nearby, freeing the device from a limitation that had given some potential buyers pause.
The code also appears to suggest that some carriers will offer promotional plans for the LTE Apple Watch, perhaps including free months of service. Despite this, Macworld point out that Apple does not have a regular launch pattern for the Watch since there have only been two generations.
The new watch will also include a faster dual core processor and a barometric altimeter, which measures the altitude of an object above a fixed level. It's up to 70 percent quicker than the Series 2. Apple has said this remains for the Apple Watch 3, regardless of if you opt for the cellular or non-cellular version. Interestingly, the cellular antenna is actually the display itself, and it has an electronic SIM card inside for connectivity.
Battery life: Battery life is said to be the same between both models. Specifically that's up to 18 hours of mixed Wi-Fi and LTE use. But before we get to the phones, Apple has a few other reveals to make. The device also features a quicker Siri and most importantly, users will now be able to hear Siri after asking the virtual assistant a question instead of just reading the screen. This means it can pick-up notifications, calls, and more without being near a phone. After owning one myself, I'd say the current thickness of the Apple Watch Series 2 is an issue for many customers, and by reducing the size of the Series 3, Apple will be able to more easily cross over into the mainstream watch market. Plus, it will tell you about abnormal heart patterns, which often go undiagnosed.
