The winning Powerball ticket was one that Wanczyk picked herself, using a combination of family birthdays and her lucky number, four.
With drawings being held twice a week, Powerball is played in 44 states plus Washington, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands, all of which collectively oversee the game. California had the most winners by far, with 1,172,477.
Wanczyk purchased the winning Powerball ticket at the Pride Station and Store near where she works in Chicopee, located some 90 miles west of Boston.
"The first thing I want to do is just sit back and relax", Mavis L. Wanczyk told reporters at a news conference. "This location has had some big ones", he said of the Chicopee store.
"I couldn't drive anywhere, I couldn't do anything", she said.
Wanczyk worked for 32 years in a clerical job in the nursing department at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield, the hospital said.
It's the largest jackpot ever won in MA.
The ticket was sold at Bloomfield Grocery, located at 3794 Bloomfield Road, according to the Georgia Lottery.
McIntyre, in a statement released on Thursday morning, also said six other tickets won $2 million apiece, and 34 more are worth $1 million. The store in Watertown will receive $10,000 for selling the winning ticket, lottery officials said. That winning ticket was traced back to MA, but there is now no confirmation on the victor of the $758.7 million jackpot.
"I purchased five tickets, and it wasn't until I checked the last ticket that I knew I was a victor", said Clouser, who is married with four children.
