Arsene Wenger is relieved Olivier Giroud opted to stay at Arsenal this summer after the striker scored the victor in Friday's Premier League opener against Leicester.

A crossfield ball found Hector Bellerin on the right, with the full-back playing the ball back to Mohamed Elneny, who floated in a first-time cross.

Giroud scores the dramatic victor to save Arsenal, a simply sensation moment and Leicester has their hearts broken again against Arsenal with a late goal scored against them.

Substitute Aaron Ramsey slammed home and 83rd minute equaliser before Olivier Giroud met Granit Xhaka's corner to win the season opener.

Lacazette is simple in every game.

ARSENAL'S ALEXANDRE LACAZETTE got his Premier League career off to the flawless start against Leicester at the Emirates this evening.

Arsenal were then stunned as Jamie Vardy connected with a Marc Albrighton cross in the 29th minute to make it 2-1 to the visitors.

The guests needed only 10 minutes to regain their lead after the restart as Vardy headed in Riyad Mahrez's cross to score his side's third goal and complete his brace.

With Giroud replacing Holding, Wenger switched the formation from a 3-4-2-1 to a 4-4-2 with Giroud and Lacazette up front.

"The goals we conceded, we can work to get rid of that".

"Top quality game and you want PL to be best in the world and you have to produce games like that", Wenger told reporters.

"The first goal is on a short corner, we were not focused enough".

Wenger reassured that his compatriot Giroud will not be leaving the club this transfer window despite losing his starting role to their record summer signing Alexandre Lacazette who opened his English Premier League goal account in the match against Leicester City.

But the home side's pressure in the final half hour turned the game back their way and Ramsey equalised with a shot from close range seven minutes from time with Ozil appearing to handle the ball in the build-up. "To come here and score three has to be pleasing in some respect, but it doesn't feel like it".

Carragher was speaking shortly after Giroud had helped Arsenal to an incredible comeback win against Leicester at the Emirates.
