Hence, US fans were eager to receive confirmation about the heading of ASUS ZenFone AR. We recently reported that the phone was now available for purchase through Verizon, and it looked like Big Red may have had exclusive rights to sell the phone in the United States. If you want to purchase this handset but don't want to get locked to Verizon, there's another option.
Amazon is now selling the unlocked version of the ZenFone AR for US$599. It's packing a 5.7-inch 2560×1440 AMOLED display, 23-megapixel rear camera, Snapdragon 821 processor, microSD slot, and 3300mAh battery. Two of them are dedicated to the motion tracking and depth sensing capabilities that are associated with its AR and VR support. The good news is Amazon is selling the unlocked version of ZenFone AR as well, and it's much cheaper than the Verizon model. The point of which it was holding such a high level of expectations is, it's the world's first smartphone to support both the Google Tango AR and Daydream VR.
Asus ZenFone AR carries a price tag of $648 in the USA.
If you're looking for a GSM-compatible ZenFone AR, then head over to Amazon to check it out.
On the other hand, if you'd rather have the model with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, you can order it now but be advised that it will only ship in 2-4 weeks.
Today Verizon began offering the ASUS ZenFone AR in its online store, and now GSM folks can get one of their own.
