In 2014, Russian and German tourists were robbed and murdered in Mombasa in two separate incidents. However, something awful and unexpected happened there which resulted in their death and the police are now looking for answers.
"We have seen they have deep cuts in their bodies".
The bodies of a Caucasian couple thought to be between 60 and 70 years old were found dumped by a rural road in Kenya's coastal city of Mombasa on Sunday, police said, but their identities were unclear. It has been reported that the caretaker of a property where the couple had been due to stay, is being sought for questioning.
Confirming the incident, Kisauni OCPD, Christopher Rotich, said that the bodies had injury marks on them suggesting that the two might have been killed at another location before being dumped at the scene.
"They were expected to arrive by midnight but something happened between the airport and the home".
The bodies, wrapped in a blanket, were spotted by pedestrians in the morning.
Rotich says the elderly couple Werner Borner Paul and Marrianne Borner was murdered in their home in Nyali estate where they had lived for more than two decades.
