Among the players taking the court were Boston Celtics' star Jaylen Brown, as well as All-Star players Kemba Walker of the Charlotte Hornets, DeMarcus Cousins of the Pelicans, and Kyle Lowry of the Raptors.
Fans were treated to a real NBA 2017 experience as they witnessed their favourite basketball superstars compete.
NBA reports that there have been more than 70 current or former NBA players from Africa or with ties to the continent, including NBA Africa Ambassador Hakeem Olajuwon (Nigeria) and Dikembe Mutombo, both of whom played in NBA Africa Game 2015. Detroit's Andre Drummond had 14 points and 13 rebounds, while Kristaps Porzingis of the New York Knicks added 14 points and eight points. Oladipo scored 28 points along with nine rebounds, five assists, and a steal.
Neither team shot from downtown particularly well, as Team World connected on 27.5 percent of their three-pointers and Team Africa hit at a rate of 22.5 percent.
However, Team World took advantage of Team Africa's inability to take care of the ball - scoring 29 points off 16 turnovers from their opponents.
Team World is loaded with familiar faces, including DeMarcus Cousins, C.J.
Team World beat Team Africa, 101-97, in the inaugural game.
