This Is Us has lost one of its 11 nominations for the 2017 Emmy Awards after it was determined that the show was ineligible in the category. "The entry (and subsequent nomination) are thereby disqualified", said a Television Academy spokesman in a statement.
According to Deadline, costume designer Hala Bahmet, assistant costume designer Marina Ray, and costume supervisor Elinor Bardach were nominated in the Outstanding Contemporary Costumes for a Series, Limited Series or Movie category for the Season 1 finale, "Moonshadow".
Like we said, the series still has plenty of likely award wins to tide itself over with.

The emotional NBC hit was a favorite among fans, and last month when the primetime Emmy nominations were announced it was clear the Television Academy felt the same way. Other nominees in the category include: Netflix's Grace and Frankie; HBO's Big Little Lies, Empire on Fox; and Amazon's Transparent. This Is Us regularly features scenes take place in the 1970s, '80s, '90s and present day.
That has to be frustrating for "This Is Us" and the costume team.
Bahmet also revealed that she scours costume houses, vintage shops, Goodwill, and eBay and Etsy to find vintage pieces suitable for all of the show's eras.
Tune in to see who takes home the gold at the primetime Emmy awards on September 17. This Is Us uses flashback sequences on the show to further explain storylines but it appears that due to the high level of flashbacks in the episode submitted, it fell short and therefore didn't comply with the rules.
