Tesla is reportedly creating a streaming music service known as "TTunes".
Thanks to some software sleuthing reported by clean energy news site Electrek, a new client was discovered as part of recent updates to the company's electric cars.
However, while Tesla vehicle owners can see a label for TTunes in their media app, there's nothing actually available (yet) in terms of a program people can actually use. Possible pricing information is now unknown as well.
Additionally, Musk previously hinted at a Tesla music-streaming service in June during a shareholders meeting, TechCrunch reported.
It remains a mystery whether or not consumers - many of whom already subscribe to a streaming music service like Spotify, Apple Music, Pandora, or many others - would be interested in it.
CEO Elon Musk has also previously talked about music as it relates to Tesla vehicles, including suggesting that one day Tesla owners could continue listening to a curated auto playlist through the Tesla phone app.
When reached for comment, a Tesla spokesperson referred us to an earlier statement on the matter: "We believe it's important to have an exceptional in-car experience so our customers can listen to the music they want from whatever source they choose".
