Despite having been the subject of countless leaks over the past few months, the Note 8 remains one of the most anticipated phones of 2017 as Samsung attempts to put the disastrous launch of the Galaxy Note 7 behind it for good. Customers who pre-order the Galaxy Note 8 by 3 September will pay a discounted price of AUD 100 per month in plan fees on Optus' AUD 130 My Plan Plus, plus an AUD 10 monthly handset repayment over the 24 month plan (minimum total cost AUD 2,640 over 24 months). Just days after the launch, there are rumours about company's next flagship have started doing rounds.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 comes a year after the Galaxy Note 7, a device that Samsung hopes the world has forgotten about after the bad press and flak the company got thanks to the device exploding; something that an investigation blamed on its battery. It flaunts a 6.2-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 2960x1440 pixels. The device's main camera composition consists of a 13MP f/1.7 sensor complemented by a secondary 5MP f/1.9 unit. There' also a 16MP selfie camera on the front. The 128GB of storage space can be expanded further up to 256GB in the hybrid dual SIM card slot.
Even though some reports claimed that the Galaxy S9 might ship with an in-display fingerprint scanner, chances are that it will come with a rear-facing sensor as well, as in-display fingerprint scanners probably won't become available until the second half of next year.
Furthermore, the device has the IP68 rating that makes it water and dust resistant.
