"Toilet Ek Prem Katha" which is a satirical comedy film in support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "Swachh Bharat Abhiyan" has amassed a stupendous amount of Rs 13.10 cr on the first day of its release. Very proud of Mr K-It's a highly entertaining and equally important movie! The film has earned Rs 13.10 crore at the domestic Box Office.
"Toilet: Ek Prem Katha" is directed by Shree Narayan Singh and backed by Viacom 18 Motion Pictures.
Cine buffs have been eagerly waiting for the release of this film and trade experts hoped it would end the dry spell at the Box Office.
The film which opened in the box office without any competition did well on the first day with 30-35% occupancy in the theatres during the morning show. The evening shows seemed to be really profitable for the filmmakers.
It also has the advantage of the public holiday (Independence Day) on Tuesday, which will surely boost the film. If the growth of the film remains stable on the weekends and on the weekdays so Akshay has a huge chance of becoming the highest grosser.
Pattnaik said as the movie has a social message and stresses on the importance of use of toilets, it is necessary on part of the governments to promote it. Going against all odds, Keshav and Jaya attempt to bring a change in their family's thought and take on a political battle over open defecation and sanitation.
