C-130 transport aircraft airlifted relief supplies worth $100,000 to the Philippines on August 7 to help "the displaced civilians affected by the ongoing security situation in the southern Philippines", said a statement.
The airlift follows Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte's acceptance of the SAF's offer of help to the Philippines during Minister for Defence Ng Eng Hen's visit to the Philippines last month.
The aircraft carried items donated by the Singapore Armed Forces and the Singapore Red Cross.
Ng also suggested that the city-state could help in other areas such as coordinating humanitarian assistance for the reconstruction of Marawi, since Singapore now plays host to several regional facilities, including the Changi Regional Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief Coordination Center (RHCC).
Lee said that much like the move made by Malaysia in the past week, the Singaporean government is much willing to provide any support to the ongoing crisis in Marawi city.
The supplies will be given to "the hundreds of thousands of civilians who have been forced out of their homes by ISIS-affiliated groups in Marawi, now still in temporary evacuation centres in nearby areas", he added, referring to the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terror group.
The relief packages, consisting of 30 five-man tents, 3,120 packets of field rations, 200 blankets, three sets of medical supply, 1080 bottled water, 64 pieces of dynamo lights, and three water filtration units, were handed over to local authorities by the Armed Forces of Singapore together with the Singaporean Red Cross.
According to AFP spokesperson Brig.
A Republic of Singapore Air Force C-130 aircraft carrying the supplies landed near Mindanao's Iligan city where many Marawi residents have fled to.
