Along with performing many of their well-known hits, they also welcomed Rick Astley - also appearing at the Tokyo festival - on stage for a special rendition of his 1980s hit-turned-meme, Never Gonna Give You Up.
Singer Dave Grohl introduced their guest by saying, "This is fuckin' insane". "This is f***ing insane". "This is f-ing insane", he admitted, "I just met him two minutes ago".
While the prank tricks internet users into clicking on a link that redirects them to the music video for "Never Gonna Give You Up", it has seen Astley return to the public spotlight and made the song's clip one of the most-watched YouTube videos ever.

Foo Fighters are set to release their ninth studio album, Concrete and Gold, on September 15, 2017.
The band has used the Rickroll before, trolling a group of protesters from the Westboro Baptist Church at one of their concerts before.
