During a customary conference call which allowed various outlets to ask questions about upcoming releases and financial outlooks, Take-Two Interactive completely pushed away incoming questions which focused on the (hopefully) eventual Red Dead Redemption 2 PC release, which makes it seem as if publishing to PC isn't a priority for the team in the slightest. But developer Rockstar's next game, Red Dead Redemption 2, is scheduled for release next year, so there are concerns that it might compete with GTA V for market share and thus potentially hinder its sales or be hindered itself.
Times have changed and consoles like PS4 Pro, Xbox One X are aimed at high end computers to offer 4K quality gaming.
President Karl Slatoff said that PC is a very important platform for the company but some titles sell better on consoles, while others are suited for PC.
"It really depends on the title".
Take Two CEO Strauss Zelnick was asked directly about the sequel's release for the platform and noted that, "Any updates about any of our titles will come from our labels". "Some titles are actually heavily weighted to PC, for example, Civilization and XCOM, [but] some titles are less weighted to PC,".
That being said, they see the PC market as "vibrant", a "great", "big", and "core" market. It's a great market for us.
Users are highly engaged, even on an ongoing basis. They are much ahead in terms of adopting newer technologies and are also digitally driven that takes off issues caused by sellers or third parties. What this means in relation to Red Dead Redemption 2 is unclear.
