A MAN who was found nailed to a tree in a forest in New Mexico claims he was targeted by two men who threatened him after a property dispute.
Duran wouldn't tell police his name or what happened to him, but eventually he opened up.
The worker said: 'He kept yelling, "help, help", and so I came and I saw him and I kind of freaked out because I didn't know if there was any other guys around'.
An officer responded and found Duran conscious and breathing, but in pain.
The video below shows the area where Duran was rescued after being found nailed to a tree back in May.
Duran claims two men were sent that day to threaten and scare him after he was involved in an ugly real estate deal, which he says is all laid out in documents.
'Two people grabbed me and they pulled me to the trees, ' he said in Spanish, according to KOB 4. They identified themselves as KKK.
Reiterated the victim, 'They took away a lot of papers. Then in English, he said, "Jesus gave me another chance to live".
He said the men marched him into the Bosque at gunpoint, telling him that he doesn't listen and that he was going to die. "They had guns. One said to the other, 'kill him already, ' and the other said, 'No, we've got to do it away from here'".
Police have however said they didn't suspect this was a payback for crime or a cartel-related punishment.
In the video, Duran is heard saying, "Two men tried to kill me".
