This is of course what we hope, of course, even if it was a little hard to believe fully in this positive narrative of a Ben Affleck that, there is not so long ago, has been dispossessed of the power he had on the DCU to the point that we wonder very seriously if he wasn't going to slam the door of The Batman.

"Zack has been a family drama, is removed, which is frightful".

Directors Zack Snyder and Joss Whedon are at two opposite ends of the spectrum in terms reception to their their comic book movies.

On the August 11th episode of the /Film Daily podcast, /Film editor-in-chief Peter Sciretta reported new information he heard about the Justice League reshoots. Then again, we all know that Darkseid is eventually coming, so it may be tough to really sell Steppenwolf as a formidable opponent for the titular team when audiences are aware that he's just the appetizer, so to speak.

"The best person we could've possibly found was Joss".

Speaking to EW, Affleck called it "a little bit unorthodox" to work on a movie where one director leaves and another steps in under a situation like that which happened to Zack Snyder. Snyder's Watchmen, Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice have been polarizing projects to say the least, while Whedon's Avengers films and previous TV work have been much more positively received.

"The original ending of the movie from what I understand was that he was kind of playing the Silver Surfer role and Darkseid playing kind of the Galactus role, and the ending of the movie was a cliffhanger and Justice League 2 was going to be Justice League vs. Darkseid. I have to say, I really love working with Zack, and I really love the stuff we've done with Joss". "I've never worked on a movie that didn't do reshoots", Ben explains. They're hitting their stride.

Hopefully, Justice League can build on the momentum from Wonder Woman, which finally delivered a critical and commercial success for the DCEU. They're getting it right. "They beckon, they are doing things correctly, and it starts to give really the impression that it's going to work". For now, we'll have to wait and see if Affleck's promise that Justice League is "interesting" comes to fruition.

Justice League hits theaters on November 17, 2017.
