An ex-CIA spy has a plan to force Trump off of Twitter – here’s how it’s going so far

"Former CIA officer Valerie Plame was roughly $1 billion short of her goal to buy a major stake in Twitter and persuade the publicly traded company to ban President Donald Trump - so she started a GoFundMe campaign to raise that sum and, as the page says, "#BuyTwitter and delete Trump's account".

The GoFundMe page for her bid says U.S. president Mr Trump's tweets "damage the country and put people in harm's way".

However, CNN did not mention this history in their brief caption of their video interview with Wilson and instead mentioned how an "ex-spy wants to buy Twitter to stop Trump" via a crowdfunding campaign to raise $1 billion.

Wilson hopes that she will be able to collect a million dollars to buy a controlling stake in this social network. The former Central Intelligence Agency agent has launched a $1 billion GoFundMe campaign to finance her bid to purchase a controlling share of Twitter, according to USA Today. If she doesn't have enough to purchase a majority of shares, she said, she will explore options to buy "a significant stake" and champion the proposal at Twitter's annual shareholder meeting. He said that there are around 125 million users of Twitter in the world. The market value of Twitter is about $11.7 billion, according to Bloomberg.

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said the low total showed that the American people liked the Republican president's use of Twitter.

If Ms Wilson were to hit her billion-dollar goal, she would still fall far short of gaining a controlling interest in the company. On Wednesday, Twitter did not respond to her attempts to buy a strong position in their company.
