The video, the latest salvo in Perry's ongoing feud with Swift, dropped on Thursday morning, just hours before Swift is set to release her latest single.
Do you get it? Gronk played the role of a fan at a basketball game who is counting down the days until football season. There's some sort of wrestling-basketball game, with Katy Perry and the weird kid from Stranger Things on one side, and The Mountain from Game of Thrones on the other side. This isn't going to help.
The video is so damn amusing, and seems to show that Katy Perry is always down to make fun of herself and own the negative things people say about her.
Gronkowski, who starred in 3LAU's music video for "On My Mind" in May, made a brief cameo at around the video's 2:24 mark. Oh, the teams are coached by Terry Crews and Molly Shannon, which is a thing I wish wasn't happening, but it just is, and we all have to deal with it.
Perry has suggested that "Swish Swish" is her way of clapping back at Swift, but as clapbacks go, it's just a little bit ... weak.
Katy's main source of income is obviously through her first love - music. In addition, Perry seemingly responded to drama between Harris and Swift regarding the former couple's collaboration on his 2016 single "This Is What You Came For". Watch music video above. There are some jams on Witness, I swear!
"I didn't know that they were gonna call me 'Shaquille O'Meals, '" she continued, "and I don't care what the internet says, my comedy is not based on my weight".
"She's a commander in chief, she's really a force to be reckoned with", proclaims Meyers who also directed Perry's 2011 MTV VMA video of the year-winning "Firework" visual.
