An AK-47, a mouser and two rifles have been confiscated from the followers, Home Secretary Rajiv Mehrishi said. An AK-47, a Mauser gun, 2 rifles and 5 pistols have been confiscated.

Soon, the authorities swung into action and curfew was clamped in several parts of Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh.

By Thursday night, a tense calm had settled over Panchkula.

"The court has also directed the Deputy Commissioners of Punjab and Haryana to collect claim petitions from people who have suffered losses due to the violence and submit it to respective advocate generals, who will then place it before the court", he added. Meanwhile, 12 buses and two bogies of the train were set on fire by miscreants in Delhi.

Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, a self-styled spiritual guru and head of the Dera Sacha Sauda sect, has been moved to a prison in Haryana's Rohtak. But still people are eager to know that who is going to be the next owner of the Dera.

However, the army has entered the Dera Sach Sauda headquarters in Sirsa on Saturday. "The situation is in control". Ram Rahim Singh is being treated as normal prisoner.

Ram Rahim's Z-Plus security was withdrawn following his conviction, Dhesi said.

Punjab-Haryana court has given a historic decision to seize the properties of the Dera. There were about 200 cars in his convoy as ardent devotees followed him.

The India Today Group's TV channel showed pictures of its correspondent and cameraman being attacked while they were travelling in a van in Sirsa, the Dera's headquarters. A former CBI director, who did not want to be quoted, said, "All governments at that time tried everything to save this criminal, selfstyled godman".

"He was taken through a helicopter purely on security considerations".

Reportedly, Ram Rahim spent a sleepless night in jail on August 25.

At least 28 people were killed and 250 injured on Friday in widespread violence, arson and police firing triggered by the rape conviction of self-styled godman Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh. Political personalities, including Haryana State Chief Minister ML Khattar, have been featured by cleanliness drives organized by the sect, the NDTV report said. "We then decided we have to collect evidence against him, record statements of victims in rape and murder cases, but it was very hard", he told TOI. The CBI had filed a chargesheet against him in 2007.
