Students who applied for places in STEM-related courses will be happy to see a drop in points needed, with Trinity College, UCD and NUI Maynooth seeing a drop in required points for general science courses.

Due to a new CAO points system, as well as a new grading system, not may course have the same points requirements as previous year.
And now, The Irish Times has confirmed the CAO has issued 76,651 round one offers to over 52,000 applicants this morning.
However, Business has gone up 7 points to 407 this year, while Project and Construction Management is up from 355 to 370.
Teaching degrees saw the biggest decrease, while many nursing courses also had significantly lower entry requirements, though applicants fell by 5 per cent in this case.
In GMIT, the points requirement for Business has remained the same at 290 as has Computing and Digital Media which has remained at 300 points.
Students are being advised that they have until next Monday evening to accept their offers, with the CAO expecting around 99% of offers to be accepted online.
