After previously refusing to comment on the issue of alleged favors from government officials to promote a Bureau of Customs (BOC) employee, Faeldon finally broke his silence. Faeldon, however, declined to reveal their identities.

“And I tell them right in their face I will never dip a finger to influence our promotion board, even that is a form of corruption e”, he said.

Faeldon said he reluctantly agreed to the request of Richard Chen, the warehouse owner, to have a photo with him out of courtesy. This is the country’s Bureau of Customs- the Filipino people’s Bureau of Customs.

“I am appealing to you”.

House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez has also called for Faeldon’s resignation due to this.

“Pati assignment ituturo sa’yo, “o dito mo ilagay ha” Why will I allow that?” he said.

“If he arrived earlier, those procedural errors that we have committed would have been corrected”, the customs chief added.

A new system implemented by Customs, instead of reducing irregularities at the BOC, facilitated release of “more illegal importations”, Sen.
