It was announced at Disney's D23 convention Friday, July 14 in Anaheim, Calif., that Henson would be joining as a new character named Yesss.
In the short clip shown to the audience (as reported by EW), characters Vanellope (Sarah Silverman) and Ralph (John C. Reilly) travel to the internet to search for a missing piece of Vanellope's game, Sugar Rush.
Let's look at an exclusive clip from Wreck-It Ralph 2. They're guarded by stormtroopers. Though the Mouse House is perhaps most well known for their Disney Princess movies, the studio has released plenty of hits focused on non-royal characters. Vanellope really wants to mess with the Disney princesses. They welcome her into their fold after she sympathizes with the same problem they all have: everyone thinks a big, strong man solved all their problems.
Cut to all the princesses hanging out with Vanellope, slumber party style.
When the Princesses discover the tiny intruder, they prepare to attack. There are jokes about Merida's Scottish accent, with one princess joking that she's "from the other studio". Lasseter revealed to guests that the filmmakers had asked the original voices of the princesses to return to their roles for a sequence that no Disney fan could forget. C-3PO even shows up at the end of the fantastic mashup clip.
Olaf actor Josh Gad later ribbed Lasseter for the untitled and tentative films when they moved on to discussing "Frozen 2", set for November 2019.
They're then interrupted by C-3PO from Star Wars who is teased by the princesses by calling him R2-D2 and BB-8, before he trundles off remarking, 'I miss Captain Solo'.
"Toy Story 4" Lasseter said that rather than direct himself, he will mentor director Josh Cooley for the fourth installment, which is due out June 21, 2019.
YESSS ends up becoming their guide and ultimately takes them through OhMyDisney.com, where Vanellope and Ralph will come face to face with some of our favorite characters from other Disney entities. Director Dan Scanlon (Monsters University) is setting the adventure of two teenage "boys" in a "mundane/magical" "suburban fantasy world". Instead, Toy Story 4 will be directed by Josh Cooley.
